2 dead after fire in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two children are dead after an overnight apartment fire in Bowling Green.

According to a release by Elyse Jonker, public information officer for the Bowling Green Fire Department, at 2:15 a.m., BGFD units were dispatched to a reported structure fire at Willow Creek Apartments on Shive Lane.

Upon arrival, crews reportedly encountered heavy fire.

Fire personnel say crews immediately began suppression and search operations, along with requesting additional units.

Thirteen total units responded to the incident.

During the response, two young children were found dead in the structure, according to the release.

The fire is under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
