Warren County officially opens first dog park

Alvaton, KY -

Warren County's first ever dog park is officially open.

A ribbon cutting was held just moments ago at Phil Moore Park in Alvaton.

Several elected and community leaders, along with their dogs were on hand to officially open the facility.

The park consists of one fenced in area for large dogs and another for small ones.

Parks officials say there have been plans to build a dog park in the county for years.

"In the county limits, it has been an ongoing conversation for over the past ten years," said Warren County Parks and Recreation Director, Chris Kummer. "To actually have a place where you can bring big dogs and small dogs and let them roam free in a restricted and safe area."

The park will open every morning at 8:00 and will close at dusk.
