Glasgow, KY -

Police say an accused shoplifter in Glasgow took police on a pursuit before crashing his vehicle into a tree.

According to Glasgow Police, officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at the city's Walmart store on Monday.

Police say they observed the suspect's vehicle on Reynolds road. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, authorities say the driver failed to stop and eventually struck a tree on Reagan Lane.

Police say, the driver, later identified as Mark Plunk, 33, of Springfield, Tennessee fled on foot. It was also determined that the truck he was driving was stolen from Tennessee.

After a perimeter was set up, a police K9 eventually located Plunk under a tree.

Plunk was charged with numerous crimes, including, shoplifting, fleeing or evading police, and receiving stolen property.

He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
