Jailbreak caught on camera

Posted: Updated:
Louisville, KY -

(WAVE) - Well, this isn't your normal jail breakout but it's not original either.

Two inmates escaped from a Kentucky jail over the weekend after hiding in food waste trash cans, but they failed to smile for the cameras. Jail officials say Justin Stumler and Jeremy Hunt, were working in the jail's kitchen Saturday night around 10 p.m. when they executed their master plan.

Both men were caught on camera jumping out of a trash can that had been taken outside for disposal.

But their newfound freedom didn't last very long. Police captured Stumler in a local neighborhood and Hunt was apprehended after an intense car chase Monday afternoon. Three other inmates were also charged Monday as accomplices to the jailbreak.
