Warren Co. deputy honored with 2018 Governor's Award

The Warren County Sheriff's Office celebrated one of its deputies for his efforts in keeping the citizens of Bowling Green safer and to show their appreciation, he was given a very prestigious award.

According to a press release, Deputy Wayne Mayfield represented the Warren County Sheriff's Office as the recipient of the 2018 Governor's Award at the Governor's Occupant Protection Enforcement Awards Ceremony yesterday which was held in Lexington. 

The Kentucky Office of Highway Safety sponsors the ceremony each year while working together with state and local law enforcement in an effort to save lives by enforcing seat belt laws in the Commonwealth.

Sheriff Jerry "Peanuts" Gaines says, "It's not just about writing tickets, but more about saving lives."

Congratulations to Deputy Mayfield on receiving this award for his hard work and dedication!
