Construction is set to begin next week on I-64 right here in Kentucky. Beginning on Monday, I-64 will be reduced to one lane in each direction of the work area in eastern Kentucky. The work area will be between exit 137 and eastbound mile marker 142. The $2 million project is expected to last through June. Road crews are planning on replacing the top layer of asphalt on the highway, smoothing out broken pavement and potholes and performing other various upgrades.
