Vanity Fair is donating bra's to women in need by kicking off their first buy one, get one, give one event of the year right here in Bowling Green.
The BOGOGO event gives customers the option to buy one bra, get one for free, and then in honor of their purchase, Vanity Fair will donate one to the non-profit, Dress for Success.
The event runs all weekend long at Fruit of the Loom Brand Shop on Scottsville Road.
Vanity Fair Director of Brand Communications, Sheron Bates, says the mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing support networks, professional attire, and tools for thriving in work and life.
Over the course of Vanity Fair's three year partnership with the non-profit, they've donated over 150,000 bra's and say they hope to deliver at least 50,000 more this year.
"If you've never tried a Vanity Fair bra, it is life-changing," Bates says, "It can really make a difference in how your outfit looks, how you feel about yourself--you feel more confident, you feel more beautiful--and we know first-hand from women that we've spoke with in our Dress for Success partnership that it is making such a difference in their lives. They have told us first-hand that they put on their bra's and they feel more confident, more empowered when they go for that business interview."
She also notes 80 percent of women unknowingly wear the wrong bra size. To combat the statistic and help educate women on proper bra fit, Vanity Fair is hosting a free bra-fitting event on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brand Shop.
If you can't make it out this weekend, their BOGOGO event kicks off this Thursday at Kohls as well.
