Suspected Franklin Bank Robber Apprehended

The suspect from a Simpson County bank robbery in July has been located in Texas and taken into custody.

James Gray, 25, was wanted for allegedly robbing the US Bank on South Main Street in Franklin on July 17th.

He handed the teller a note that stated this is a robbery then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Texas police officers located Gray at an apartment complex in Port Arthur, Texas Tuesday afternoon, where they also discovered the vehicle used during the Franklin robbery.

Gray confessed to the crime in an interview with the FBI and is suspected of committing two other bank robberies in Colorado.

He is lodged in the Jefferson County Texas Jail and will be extradited back to Kentucky to face his charges.
