WKU Basketball has a familiar face returning this season.
Former player Justin Johnson rejoins the team after a short venture to pursue football.
Johnson went from a basketball to a football scholarship shortly after the end of the 2016-2017 basketball season in order to test his love for football and see what venture was best for his future. On Sunday, he announced he felt it would be best for him to end his venture in football to return to the basketball court.
Last season, Johnson lead the team in rebounds and scoring. Johnson’s return fills the need for a frontcourt man after the departure of 5-star Mitchell Robinson last month.
Johnson participated in yesterday’s practice while Rick Stansbury and the team prepare to travel to Costa Rica today for preseason games Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
