Bowling Green Independent School District announced Thursday that LaVonda Johnson has been removed as head coach of the Lady Purples basketball team.
Late last night, a letter from Johnson began circulating on Facebook. According to the letter Johnson claim school district official would not meet with her. She contacted the KHSAA the equal opportunity employment commission and other civil rights organizations.
Bowling green Independent Schools spokesperson tells WNKY that they are aware of the letter and have no other comment on the matter. Except to say Johnson is still employed as a teacher at the school.
The Equal opportunity employment center says they cannot comment.
None of the other organizations we have contacted have responded to our request for a comment.
Johnson's attorney provided WNKY with a copy of the letter.
