United Way of Southern Kentucky Experiences Early Campaign Wins

With a little more than one month to go in the 2013-14 United Way of Southern Kentucky official campaign season, volunteers are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to raise $1.9 million. Many companies across Southern Kentucky are stepping up to the challenge and experiencing early campaign wins.

Examples of companies who are experiencing early campaign wins include:

  • Hill's Pet Nutrition has increased their combined employee and corporate total giving to $61,000 representing a 13% increase over last year's donations, and they are continuing to work hard to collect even more!
  • Warren County Public Schools employees have generously increased their donations by more than $6,000 increasing their total collected this year to $43,622!
  • Fruit of the Loom Distribution Center's employees are estimated to donate more than $23,000 - an almost $4,000 increase over last year's total!
  • Employees of Allen County Schools have donated $13,879 representing a more than $2,500 increase in employee giving over the previous year's donations!
  • Hitcents has signed on to conduct their first ever United Way payroll deduction campaign!
  • Other companies who have seen increases in their 2013/14 United Way campaign over the previous year include: Citizens First Bank (Glasgow, Franklin, and Bowling Green), ELPO (English, Lucas, Priest & Owsley), Glasgow Independent Schools, and Logan Telephone Cooperative.

Steve Wallace, President & CEO of United Way of Southern Kentucky says, "We are extremely proud of these companies for their success in hosting United Way workplace campaigns this fall. The commitment made by each employee to supporting the basic health and human service needs in Southern Kentucky is truly inspiring, and on behalf of the thousands of people who will be helped because of their generous donations I extend my sincerest thanks."
